POLICE have dropped a rape investigation after a teenager was reportedly attacked outside a Southampton convenience store.
Officers were seen sweeping a cordoned-off area outside the One Stop store in Winchester Road to find clues after the alleged incident, which was reported to have taken place at around 3am on Friday.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said at the time: “We were called just before 3am to a report of a rape against a 19-year-old woman.”
However, Hampshire Constabulary has now said it is no longer investigating the incident.
It is not clear why the investigation was dropped by police, with a spokesman declining to give further details.
