SAINTS fans could face travel chaos today as a total train shutdown is taking place in Southampton.
South Western Railway announced plans to shut lines between Southampton Airport Parkway and Brockenhurst in the New Forest and replace them with buses for a day of major work on the lines.
The closures will cause problems for football fans with Saints taking on Arsenal at midday on Sunday at St Mary's Stadium.
Replacement buses will also run between Eastleigh and Brockenhurst, connecting with the London Waterloo to Portsmouth service via Eastleigh.
The firm's services to and from Salisbury will also be replaced in Romsey and Eastleigh with buses which go via Southampton Central.
SWR say that fast buses will run between Eastleigh, Southampton and Bournemouth, but there will be no service that runs from the city to Portsmouth.
Buses will run between Southampton Central and Fareham, connecting with other train services between Fareham and Portsmouth instead.
In the New Forest, the Lymington branch will remain open, but times will be altered to connect with the other services that have been changed.
