THIEVES have targeted a former Special Constable and stolen the long service medal she treasured.
Burglars broke into the home of Hampshire councillor Ann Sevier and made off with the medal – but missed the MBE she received from the Queen.
Cllr Sevier, who represents Fordingbridge, was a Special Constable for Hampshire Constabulary for more than 20 years.
She said: “Becoming a Special Constable was important to me as a way of helping my local community and the people of Fordingbridge.
“I dealt with incidents that most people would not encounter in a lifetime.
"I am very sad to have had it stolen."
The theft took place on Blissford Road, Blissford, between 8.45am and 5.15pm on September 20.
