HE COULDN’T resist getting in on the Olympics action.

Southampton’s former Olympic star Pete Waterfield has revealed his own unique twist on the worldwide competition.

The star, originally from Millbrook, has uploaded a video of his family taking part in the Lilo Olympics.

The entertaining video was inspired by the current events at the Rio Olympics and sees Pete and his family go head-to-head.

The video sees the star who retired from diving in 2013 compete against his sons Lewis and Marshall as well as wife Tania, as they all take it in turns jumping into the family paddling pool attempting to do a mixture of tricks to win points.

The father-of-two shows off a host of flips and tricks as he runs, somersaults and dives into the small pool in their Southampton garden, landing on an inflatable lilo and his family attempt to beat him.

The star retired three years ago from a two-decade-long career which saw him win a silver medal alongside Leon Taylor at the 2004 Athens Olympics, while he won gold in the individual platform at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

The 35-year-old also narrowly missed out on adding another Olympic medal to his haul during the London Olympics 2012 when he and Tom Daley finished fourth in the 10 metres synchro.

He previously said: "I always said that I would continue diving for as long as my body allowed me to and I'm so grateful to have had so many amazing years in the sport, doing what I love, but the time has come to hang up my trunks.”

Looks like Pete isn’t ready to quit all together with his latest video showing off his skills.
