THE countdown is on.

In just a few days the centre of Eastleigh will be transformed into a hive of activity.

From acrobats flying through the air, musicians getting people on their feet and dancers dazzling the audience, Eastleigh Unwrapped is back for its fourth year with force.

Organisers are bringing a host of entertaining acts and fun activities to attract the community.

The event will be taking over the town centre and Leigh Road Recreation ground on Saturday.

The aerial theatre, circus performances and interactive performances are set to be a big hit for families in the area.

The Point has put together the event which has been running for four years and this year the programme includes a range of popular local acts and famed national performers.

The main attractions will include the Bullzini Family headlining with a breathtaking high-wire show, Equilibrius performed 11 metres above the audience and Acrojou who were a hit last year with a fusion of dance and circus.

Other performers include The Barrowman, featuring musical storytelling and Joli Vyann, a circus, aerial, dance fusion artists as well as Kazzum’s fusion of dance and digital that will suit the whole family in Sprung, a pop-up performance with a difference.

This year’s Eastleigh Unwrapped will also feature a ticketed evening event, Of Riders and Running Horses, presented by Still House and produced by Mayk which will be an evening dance production on The Swan Centre’s rooftop car park costing £8.

The festival runs from 11.30am to 5pm and will include live music throughout the day from buskers, as well as roaming performances from street theatre company Street to the Point, guaranteed to please the whole family.

Festival director Vicki Hargreaves said: “We couldn’t be more excited for the fourth instalment of Eastleigh Unwrapped. The town and the park will come to life with some exceptional street performances. We have many of our community members involved this year too and I can’t wait to see Eastleigh come to life with art, dance and entertainment for all.”
