CHILDREN boogied and bounced to help foster families.

Dozens of youngsters took part in the 'boogie bounce' event, raising £800 for the Southampton Foster Carers' Association.

The fundraiser at the Royal British Legion Hall in Cadnam was organised by foster mum Jo-Anne Monteiro and fitness instructor Maria Hernandez Smith, who runs boogie bounce circuit-style exercise classes in Cadnam, Dibden Purlieu and Romsey using mini trampolines.

The cash will help the charity provide special events, day trips and parties for children who are unable to live with their biological families and youngsters who share their homes and their parents with a foster-sibling.

The events allow children in care to make new friends and meet other youngsters who are in similar situations.

The cash will also help the charity continue providing extra support to foster carers with a buddy system and regular support groups.
