She may be bound for the Far East where she will be based, but Ovation of the Seas, Royal Caribbean's latest cruise ship hasn't gone overboard in making changes to fit the Chinese market, reports Editor in Chief Ian Murray on board the ship for her unveiling.
Some signage now includes Chinese script and the introduction of a noodle bar to the main pool deck are obvious nods towards the growing eastern market.
However the elements that made Ovation's sister ships Anthem and Quantum, remain unchanged and include the spectacular North Star, bumper cars and robot bar tenders.
Unveiled to the press and travel trade under dark Southampton skies this afternoon, Ovation may be the third of her class to visit the city but she retains the ability to wow, whether inside the amazing on board Ripcord by iFly skydiving attraction, experiencing the stunning Solarium or experiencing the state of art entertainment in the imaginative ground breaking Two70 degrees theatre complex.
Other nods towards the Chinese market is an additional private casino area and retail space for popular Korean beauty products.
Ovation will run a number of short cruised from Southampton this month before leaving for her home port in China and cruises to Australia.
