GOALS 91 AND 92: September 22, 2012 Saints 4 Aston Villa 1 Having been 1-0 down at half-time, Saints soon levelled through Lambert’s powerful low shot. The striker completed a first Premier League win of the season for the club with a penalty in added time.
GOAL 93: November 17, 2012 QPR 1 Saints 3 With the losing manager in this one tipped for the sack, Lambert came up trumps for Nigel Adkins, heading Saints into an early lead as they won a vital battle at the foot of the table.
GOAL 94: November 28, 2012 Saints 1 Norwich 1 Lambert prodded home after Adam Lallana’s free-kick had fallen to him via a couple of ricochets, but Saints’ lead was cancelled out right on the stroke of half-time.
GOAL 95: December 26, 2012 Fulham 1 Saints 1 After former Saint Chris Baird inexplicably handled in his own area, Lambert stepped up to score a late penalty and earn a point. It was a nervous moment for the striker, though, as Mark Schwarzer nearly kept his effort out.
