IF you’re wondering about the mysterious recent appearance of the robot on the front of the Plaza Theatre in Romsey, the explanation is that the RAODS youth members have been working intensively for the past two weeks on their out-of-this world production of Return to the Forbidden Planet.

Inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest and set on an inter-planetary spacecraft, this sci-fi jukebox musical is packed with rock 'n' roll classics such as Heard it Through the Grapevine, Young Girl, Good Vibrations, and Great Balls of Fire.

Join Captain Tempest and his fearless crew on their journey into hyperspace... and beyond!

Director William Ross-Jones was himself a member of the RAODS youth section before recently completing his training as a professional actor.

Return to the Forbidden Planet runs from Wednesday to Saturday. For the final performance of the show, all members of the audience are invited to let their tentacles down and dress as their favourite sci-fi characters.
