DORSET-based ImpAct Theatre brings Rona Munro’s acclaimed play Iron to the Regent in Christchurch on Thursday 25 October 7.30pm.

Iron is an intense psychological drama in which a mother and daughter try to break through the barriers of time, memory and punishment which separate them. However, between them lies the fact of murder. It is a murder Josie cannot remember and Fay has always tried to forget. Uncovering the memories they share is more dangerous than either of them can imagine.

Josie is visiting her mother Fay for the first time in fifteen years. She has never walked into a prison before and Fay is serving life for murder.

Rona Munro is an award-winning writer, whose credits include the screenplays Oranges & Sunshine and Ladybird, Ladybird, and more recently the historical drama trilogy The James Plays. First performed in 2002, Iron is one of her most lauded stage plays.

Patricia Richardson, the play’s director, said:“Iron is a fascinating play, portraying a mother-daughter relationship that’s highly relatable, despite its extreme circumstances. It’s a tense and powerful story that’s also incredibly moving.
