THE current Season of screenings of the Oscar Wilde Live Season at the Vaudeville Theatre in London’s West End, continues with an Encore recorded screening of An Ideal Husband, which can be seen on the big screen at the Regent in Christchurch on Monday at 2.15pm and 7.15pm.

This is a brand new production of the Rolls-Royce of English comedies and is being directed by Jonathan Church.

An Ideal Husband is both an entertaining and a still very topical play as it brings an act of political sin into the heart of a very English home.

As an ambitious government minister, Sir Robert Chiltern’s smooth ascent to the top seems assured until a certain Mrs Cheveley appears in London with damning proof of his previous financial chicanery.
