SHAKESPEARE’S most intense and terrifying tragedy, Macbeth (15), will be the last in the current season of live satellite broadcasts direct from the National Theatre in London to the big screen at the Regent in Christchurch tonight.
Directed by Rufus Norris, Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy stars Rory Kinnear and Anne-Marie Duff. Macbeth fights alongside side the King of Scotland but with a coven of witches prophesy that Macbeth himself will become king, ruthless ambition drives Macbeth and his wife to horrific acts of treachery.
