THIS season Forest Forge Youth Theatre brings to the stage the story of how the ripple’s of one’s actions can cause a significant difference.

From Wednesday they will be performing their adaption of Fin Kennedy’s The Domino Effect at Forest Forge Theatre.

Kennedy’s play was inspired during a trip to France whilst watching the film, Amélie. During the summer of 2013 The Domino Effect was conceived and set in the inner city with a teenage girl at the heart.

Kennedy related this story to the work he did with Mulberry School for Girls and in 2014 they performed the play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

The Domino Effect is about Amina, an observant and thoughtful girl who has elected to be silent. This is her story of how she finds her voice, and how she realises that small actions can have huge effects, where you least expect it. Kennedy ultimately hopes to show young people that they have more power to change their own destinies than they could ever realise.

Creative Learning Director at Forest Forge Theatre, Lucy Philips, aims to breath life into this beautiful script about communities, chance and consequences. Written as an ensemble piece with a chorus of Narrators, the play lends itself perfectly to a Youth Theatre production.

As a professional theatre company Forest Forge offers young people the chance to work with theatre professionals, learning and creating theatre shows like The Domino Effect. This production is a great opportunity for those interested in youth theatre to come and see what Forest Forge Theatre does.

The Domino Effect runs until April 21. To book, go to: forestforgetheatre.co.uk.
