THIS Christmas The Point Youth Theatre presents a new adaption of Sleeping Beauty written by Hampshire playwright Matt Beames.

And now the author, who has worked with the Eastleigh venue on numerous productions, has released Félagar: a Prelude, a companion story and prelude to the show.

With illustrations by Jo Reynolds, the novella offers audiences an engaging, illustrated introduction to the production’s heroine Aurora ahead of its run at The Point, December 19-24.

“The world of Sleeping Beauty and Félagar is one I have loved discovering, and it's been wonderful to see it come to life both as an illustrated book and as what will be an incredible stage production by The Point Youth Theatre,”said Matt.

Matt has written many plays for The Point, including Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and the Beast, and is an Associate Writer at The Berry Theatre. Félagar is available to purchase at The Point’s Box Office for £5. A story for young people and their families, the book is Matt’s first published novel.

Tickets for Sleeping Beauty are available at www.thepointeastleigh.gov.uk or call the Box Office on 023 8065 233.
