THE next generation of budding young performers in Totton dazzled audiences at Bournemouth Pavilion Theatre last weekend.

Pupils from Stagecoach Performing Arts Totton showcased their talents in a spectacular performance of All the World’s A Stage. The showcase was organised in celebration of the 30th Anniversary Year of Stagecoach Performing Arts and featured fellow students from six other Stagecoach Schools in the south. The performance was a well-timed celebration for Stagecoach Totton too, in honour of its 20th Anniversary this year.

Principal Alison Chant directed the 57 students who performed in front of an audience of over 1,400 people. For the school’s younger students, the performance was their first time treading the boards in a professional venue. For the teenagers set to pursue musical theatre at drama school or in higher education, it was another opportunity to gain valuable experience doing what they love.

Alison Chant, Principal of Stagecoach Performing Arts Totton said: “Performing on such a big stage in a local theatre was a fantastic opportunity for our students and I am exceptionally proud of every single performer who took part - they gave their all!

“Our piece celebrated our love for musical theatre throughout the seasons and the students worked so hard to produce a fantastic piece of theatre. The life-skills they developed in rehearsals, such as team work, focus and perseverance, not forgetting their incredible courage, will stay with them far beyond Saturday’s performance.”
