BRUCE Thomson, is well known for his oil paintings of wildlife and racing sailing yachts on the Solent and off the Dorset coast. He trained at The Moseley School of Art in Birmingham for over five years and will be presenting his Art Exhibition at the Regent in Christchurch until Friday August 17.
Bruce has found that living in the Dorset and Hampshire has provided true inspiration for painting in oils, especially when illustrating the local wildlife and animals and the changing moods of the sea and the forest.
Bruce will be showing up to 50 of his paintings and will be at the Regent regularly to talk about the paintings and his work. He also, aided by fellow artist, Richard Titcumb, runs a U3A art class entitled Art for Beginners and the More Experiencedand remains an active Committee member of the Hengist Group of Artists.
