IT MUST be every jazz musician’s dream to appear at the spiritual home of the jazz.

In between her breathtaking touring schedule jazz star Clare Teal will be taking time out to join a traditional paddle steamer in New Orleans, entertaining guests cruising down the Mississippi.

And nearer to home Clare will be returning to her jazz roots when she is the headliner at Eastleigh’s Concorde Club on June 20 with her Mini Big Band and Swing’s The Thing.

It was from the Stoneham Lane club that Clare launched her star studded career which has made her the nation’s most successful jazz singer in decades.

She learned much of her stage craft before breaking into the big time, clinching a £3 million pound five-album deal – an unprecedented amount for a jazz singer- and she has never looked back.

Her mission has been to bring big band and swing to music lovers everywhere and in spreading this gospel she has criss crossed the United Kingdom and travelled the globe.

And her stunning voice has won her an army of fans.

The prolific recording artist who has an encyclopaedic knowledge of jazz, swing and big band music, has become a big favourite of Concorde jazz aficionados.

One of the UK’s greatest interpreters of song, the award-winning vocalist and BBC Radio 2 broadcaster will effortlessly traverse a rich landscape of timeless material. She will be dipping into the Great American Song Book with the works of Cole Porter and Rodgers & Hart.
