Tuckton Group of Artists make the short trip across the River Stour to bring their fourth Art Exhibition to the Foyer Gallery at the Regent in Christchurch from today until Friday May 4.

Tuckton Group of Artists are a relatively new art group and have enjoyed painting together for the last four years. They have held several exhibitions during that time.

Some of the members of the group have known each other for 10 - 15 years, whilst others have joined the group more recently. The membership of Tuckton Artists is growing all of the time and twelve of them will be represented in this latest exhibition at the Regent Centre.

There will be about 50 paintings in this exhibition at the Regent, using several mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolours, mixed media and pen and wash to achieve a rich variety of subjects, such as abstracts, animals, flowers, landscapes and seascapes of local views of the New Forest, Christchurch, Mudeford and Hengistbury Head.

Tuckton Group of Artists have established an enviable reputation for their art in the area and some of the members have won some of the most prestigious art awards for their work, notably Joan Scott. She has been a winner of CADArts Open Exhibition 2007 and overall winner of Christchurch Artists Challenge 2003. She has also shown work in the Mall Galleries, London with Discerning Eye and Society of Women Artists and taken part in Selected Open Exhibitions at Mottisfont Abbey.

In 2018 Joan has had her work selected and hung in the Four Seasons Exhibition at Southampton City Art Gallery and also at the St Barbe Open Exhibition in Lymington.

Artists exhibiting include: Joy Alderman, Maylyn Bleek, Krystyna Evans, Jo Hensman, Jackie Malley, Jane Moores, Judy Page, Marie Peniston, Joan Rabe, Jill Reynolds, Joan Scott and Jane Stone.
