LOCAL indie-pop rockers The Lost Boys will celebrate the release of their debut album in Southampton this weekend.

Lead singer-songwriter Daniel Ash, bassist James Millar, guitarist Shaun Ashley, and drummer Joel Doherty will play songs from new record Nosebleeds at an official launch party at Heartbreakers, Hanover Buildings on Saturday.

Daniel told The Echo that this is the first set of songs that “feels like a genuine Lost Boys album.”

He says that lyrically it’s a collection of short stories, mainly dealing with ”people in trouble” but still retaining the catchy pop melodies the band is famous for.

The album was written over two months and recorded at The Ranch studios in Southampton after crowd funding from supporters of the band gave the project the green light.

“The response from both fans and critics has been amazing, so we want to celebrate with everyone in Southampton” says Daniel.

The lads are veterans of The Joiners and other city venues. They’ve also supported their hero Paul Weller at Hammersmith Apollo in London and recorded songs at the ex-Jam singer’s Black Barn studio in Surrey. In 2015 they joined The Bluetones at The Pyramids in Portsmouth.
