ATTENDING live music events is good for your health ...it's official!

And following the results of recent research from The Centre for Performance Science, Royal College of Music and Imperial College London which revealed attending a live musical performance for just an hour can significantly reduce the levels of stress hormones, The Isle of Wight Festival are this year making their festival experience even more relaxing.

With a brand new high spec deluxe spa, Bathing Under the Sky's open air hot tubs, bespoke luxury camping facilities with state of the art showers and toilets, Yurts, tipis, podpads and snooze boxes, organisers say there’s no better place to kick off the summer.

With the study also showing that singing for an hour resulted in significant reductions in stress hormones, such as cortisol, and increases in cytokines, immune proteins that boost the body’s ability to fight serious illness, organisers are erecting specially designed singing booths all over the festival site so you can belt out all the hits from your favourite acts appearing over the weekend. So get ready to practice your scales and be ready to sing along to all the hits from festival headliners, Queen + Adam Lambert ,The Who, Stereophonics and Faithless!

Isle of Wight Festival promoter John Giddings commented: “We’re all about creating the most relaxing and stress free environment at the festival this year. The results of this study prove that there’s no better way to switch off from the stresses and strains of daily life than listening to live music and at the Isle of Wight this year, on this beautiful Island, we have the very best that you can get!”

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place 9th-12th June at Seaclose Park, Newport.
