THE American ‘70s soul super group Chairmen of the Board is set to perform at 1865 in Southampton on Saturday.

Tickets are being snapped up fast by fans who want to hear the sole surviving original member, Ken Knox, keep their legacy alive and pay tribute to his fellow band members by singing their top hits, including Give Me Just A Little More Time, (You’ve Got Me) Dangling on a String and Everything’s Tuesday, as well as some new songs.

Ken will be on stage with his current band members, Thomas Hunter and Brandon Stevens, and will be backed by some members of the UK’s leading Northern Soul band, The Signatures – who will also be the supporting act.

“We’re very excited about the tour because we get to meet the long-time fans, who continue to support us from the early days of coming over,” said Ken.

“I was over in 1974 with General Johnson and Danny Woods and it’s a blessing to have such loyal fans in the UK who make us feel at home. I love performing our timeless music for people who appreciate the Chairmen Of The Board’s classic songs and new music as well.

“Being the sole survivor is a position I never gave thought to, because for years I could look to my left and my right there was General Johnson and Danny Woods on the stage. We lost General in 2010 and Danny on January 12 of this year and my promise to them and the fans worldwide is it’s my honour and duty to keep our legacy alive.”

Ken said he is grateful to Gavin Webb of Catman Boogie Music & Entertainments for making the tour possible and “The Fabulous Signatures and Stefan Taylor for supporting us on this Tour.”
