SPRING 2018 at Southampton’s Turner Sims presents new arrivals aplenty, mixed with new projects from celebrated artists.

Highlights include exclusive performances from Jazz virtuoso Gary Husband, BBC New Generation Artists cellist Andrei Ioni?? and pianist Mariam Batsashvili, and an exciting double-bill from Snowpoet and Olivia Chaney. The Vienna Piano Trio perform the world premiere of a new work by Austrian composer Frank Zabel.

In a wide-ranging Orchestral Season the Academy of Ancient Music present Corelli, Handel and Pergolesi, Southampton’s professional orchestra SÓN celebrate Beethoven with pianist John Lill, and unwrap Aaron Copland’s classic ballet score Appalachian Spring. The European Union Chamber Orchestra’s programme includes new work by remarkable young composer Anna Disley-Simpson.

The 2017/18 Piano Series features internationally-renowned artists including Jean-Efflam Bavouzet who will mark the centenary of Debussy’s death and Simon Trp?eski presenting a programme of Grieg, Mendelssohn and Rimsky-Korsakov.

Three major US artists visit the venue for the first time: Grammy Award-winning Keyon Harrold who has toured and worked with Jay-Z and Beyoncé plays music from his 2017 album The Mugician, drummerMark Guiliana who features on David Bowie’s final album brings music from his most recent release Jersey and multiple Grammy Award-winner Bill Frisell performs with bassist Thomas Morgan.
