ON Sunday Southampton’s celebrated Inspiration Choir, joined by Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and conducted by Pete Harrison, will present It’s Not Where you Start, It’s Where You Finish at Southampton’s O2 Guildhall.
This concert promises to be an afternoon of choral fun for all to enjoy. Southampton is the newest addition to the Inspiration family of large-scale community choirs with the simple ethos that anybody can sing.
It has been said that Inspiration has the power to make every song sound like a finale, so in this exciting concert they will be doing just that.
This year’s spring concert will be exploring the final songs and scenes from musical theatre across the years, from classics through to new modern masterpieces.
Founded by Gary Griffiths, Inspiration came about through a passion for singing and a belief in the power of song. The name itself has a double meaning, ‘breathing in’ and ‘being inspired’.
Inspiration has three hugely successful choirs in Southampton, Leeds and Newcastle and offers both new and seasoned singers the opportunity to join in the life-affirming and fulfilling experience of singing in a large group.
Led by Music Director Pete Harrison, the Southampton choir performs three times a year with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Pete is a regular guest conductor with the BSO and has also extensively worked in London’s West End, having conducted high profile shows such as Lautrec and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
