NEW FOREST rising indie stars' Pioneers play their biggest headline show in Southampton tomorrow.

Frontman Sam Watts, drummer Charlie Flide, lead guitarist Toby Gathercole and bassist Bailey Sandom are headlining at The Loft, Lower Banister Street, just months after they sold out The Joiners for the first time.

In October the band’s debut single Take Time made the Radio One playlist as BBC Introducing’s artist of the week after being championed by Radio Solent’s Steph Newenhouse.

The upbeat track, which tells the story of a big night out, was spun by DJs Dev, Scott Mills, Greg James and Clara Amfo.

First EP, I’m Not Alright, I’m Fine, featuring tunes To Be Cool, Generation and It’s On You, was released in December and lead singer Sam say they’re already working on new music for their next release.

In May the four-piece will play their biggest festival show when they join other local bands and headliners James, The Jacksons, All Saints and The Sherlocks at this year’s Common People festival on Southampton Common 26-27 May.

Pioneers play The Loft with support from local lads Kicks who played the same venue in August supporting Reading Festival main stage stars VANT.
