AFTER three years touring the globe alongside Midge Ure, the "Exceptional talents" (Songlines Magazine) of folk duo India Electric Company will kick off their headline tour at The Lights, Andover on Thursday February 1.

"We were fortunate enough to play two sold out shows here with Midge recently and so many people asked when we'd be returning that we felt it right to start our first headline tour here", singer and guitarist Cole Stacey told the Daily Echo.

After winning plaudits for their debut album back in 2015 the Devon duo comprising of multi-instrumentalist Jospeh O'Keefe and Cole Stacey have recently been found performing live sessions on BBC Radio 2, Glastonbury Festival as well as tours in Australia, New Zealand and Scandinavia.

The Seven Sisters tour will be a showcase of their most recent works, a critically acclaimed trilogy of EPs comprising of contemporary fusions of traditional tunes which Jeremy Vine recently described as "Sublime, magical and beautiful".

"We've been bowled over by the support Midge and his fans have shown us so it's hugely exciting for us to get the opportunity to play a full show to an audience that perhaps have only seen us as a support act before, although we've made sure people know we are not going to attempt to play Vienna!" Stacey added.

Tickets for the show on Thursday 1st Feb are available from www.thelights.org.uk or 01264 368368 and support will come from BBC Radio 2 Fo
