LOCAL indie rockers Bel Esprit are hitting the road with their latest single Follow The Sun including an end of year date in Southampton.

Frontman Billy Herklots and band mates Fahad Siddiqui, George Wardley and Sachin Croker are supporting rising Chester stars Idle Frets at Camden Assembly on Tuesday before December dates in Portsmouth, Bristol and Leeds. They come home to Southampton to headline Heartbreakers on Friday 29 December.

This new song, which has already featured on BBC Introducing Solent, adds atmospheric keyboards to the classic indie sound of previous singles Crucible, Leave Me Here and Lose My Mind. A fully animated psychedelic music video is promised soon.

Drawing influence from The Velvet Underground and The Strokes, the band describe their music as suave, modern alternative rock. Their previous three singles have together amassed over 200,000 plays across all platforms. The lads first won airplay on BBC 6 Music after meeting legendary DJ Steve Lamacq at a gig at The Joiners. Bel Esprit headline Heartbreakers, Hanover Buildings on Friday 29 December. Tickets £5 at seetickets.com.
