THEY support Liam Gallagher next month, but first rising Welsh stars Trampolene headline in Southampton on Sunday.

Singer-guitarist Jack Jones, bassist Wayne Thomas and drummer Rob Steele are playing The Talking Heads in The Polygon 48 hours after hearing how their debut album Swansea to Hornsey has done in the charts.

The record’s name marks the trio’s journey from their home city to the north London suburb housing the recording studios owned by Kinks legend Ray Davies. Tracks includes the singles Alcohol Kiss, The Gangway and You Do Nothing For Me.

Rarely off the road, the lads are veterans of shows at The Joiners and were also one of the big names on this year’s Jack Rocks This Feeling stage at Isle of Wight Festival. Frontman Jack is also lead guitarist in Pete Doherty’s touring band The Puta Madres.

Southampton’s James Baxter and The Dead Freights, who also play Heartbreakers with Submariner on Saturday, are supporting Trampolene. Tickets from thetalkingheads.co.uk
