IT'S GOING to be a scorcher at Common People this weekend as temperatures are set to soar in Southampton to highs of 24 degrees.

So if you're heading to the fun filled family festival, make sure you slip into some sandals and slap on some sun tan lotion – ready to bask in the glory of the summer sunshine on Saturday and Sunday.

The Met Office has forecast dry, sunny and humid weather for most of the weekend, but in true British style Saturday afternoon could see some showers of rain so don't forget to pack your raincoat along with the sun cream.

And remember no food and drink can be taken into the festival site, only sealed bottles of water.

Rob da Bank said: "It's not a picnic site, it's a festival!

"Much like other festivals you can't bring your own food and drink in, but it's going to be a hot weekend so obviously you can bring sealed bottles of water in, which you may need if queuing.

"If you need to bring baby food or have food intolerances we can be quite flexible though."

The food line-up at Common People looks almost as exciting as the event itself.

It's not just burger and chips on offer but a whole host of scrumptious street foods – from paella to Thai and churros to cheese toasties, with lots of vegan and vegetarian options too.
