AS the UK hots up, albeit somewhat sporadically, Brits are gearing up for the exciting festival season that awaits!

And, high-spirited music festival, Eklectica, which takes place from September 7-9 on the Isle of Wight, are thrilled to announce a fresh new act to their line-up in the form of Isle of Wight three-piece band, Freazy.

Freazy came through Eklectica’s Fresh Talent Search competition, which was launched back in March and gave local acts the opportunity to win the prize of becoming an official festival act.

Wowing the judges, which included icons of the music industry, Toploader, Freazy are now set to become an official festival act, performing to thousands as they precede Saturday’s headline act.

Speaking of the win, vocalist and guitarist, Anna Rice, said: “We are really happy and are going to be looking forward to it all summer! Thanks to everyone for a great opportunity and to those who let us borrow their instruments when ours broke!”

Last week, four shortlisted finalists, Lewis Shepperd, Dayita, Connexion and Freazy gathered at the festival’s home, Robin Hill Country Park, for the live final of the ‘Fresh Talent Search’ where they each performed three songs for judges.

Behind the final decision was a panel of judges made up of festival organisers, industry experts and extra special guests, alt-rock band, Toploader – known around the world as the band behind Dancing in the Moonlight – who are headlining the Eklectica stage on Sunday.

Eklectica festival takes place from September 7-9 at Isle of Wight’s Robin Hill Country Park and will feature performances from Tinchy Stryder, Pixie Lott, Scouting for Girls, the Noisettes and The Hoosiers, as well as a DJ set from TV presenter and radio host, Reggie Yates, to name but a few.
