THE JOINERS will present some of the most exciting new acts at Common People this weekend.

Hampshire’s Radio One stars Blaenavon, who’ll support alt-J at London’s O2 in June, are one of the big names on Sunday. Expect a lively crowd when lead singer-guitarist Ben Gregory, bassist Frank Wright and drummer Harris McMillan, who sold out The Joiners in March, play epic tunes like Orthodox Man, Let’s Pray and Lonely Side, from their pioneering debut album That’s Your Lot. Catch them while you can – they tour America in June.

Hampshire-Dorset’s The Magic Gang, who ignited the main stage last year, will race down from Liverpool’s Sound City to play songs from latest EP Three and other catchy indie-melodies. Front man Jack Kaye, guitarist Kristian Smith, drummer Paeris Giles and bassist Gus Taylor have just played their biggest headline show so far to 1,600 in London as well as an acoustic set for MistaJam on Radio One at The Great Escape Festival. New tune Your Love will get one of its first live plays.

On Saturday evening Brighton indie stars Black Honey return a week after supporting Royal Blood at the Guildhall. They lead a line-up including folk warrior Beans on Toast, indie-pop trio Happy Accidents, Isle of Wight electro 5 piece Nakamarra, Mad King Ludwig & Co and returning 2015 battle of the bands winners LST.

Black Kat Boppers, Submariner, Feeble Grandpa and Scarecrow Boat open the Uncommon Stage on Saturday before Fever, play the first set of the evening. Southampton’s The Manatees wrap up Saturday night.

High-flying New Forest tribal-pop band Natives - James Thomas, Greg Day, Jack Fairbrother and Andy White, are sandwiching Sunday’s Common People in the middle of a huge 17-date nationwide tour.

Get down early on day two when Southampton singer Callum Lintott and his band - brothers Sam and Tom Bennett - open. The city’s Shy Boy, with new single Over the Hill, is on next before Isle of Wight’s Xockha and local punksters Gun Shy .

Three city bands guaranteed to get everyone bouncing – The Dead Freights, The Costellos and Cassava - will arrive on stage in an indie rock and roll whirlwind on Sunday, interspersed by the atmospheric sounds of Lewes/London artist Laucan.

Don’t expect a quiet night when Bournemouth’s Deltorers close the festival on Sunday with 40 minutes of raucous indie grunge rock, including recent single I Guess We’ll Wait and See. The trio promise a new EP soon so expect to hear some brand new music too.
