WINCHESTER'S most popular music venue is hosting another lockdown gig this Saturday.

This is the Kit, project of Kate Stables, will be joined by Alex Cornish from 8.30pm on the Railway Inn's Facebook page.

A spokesperson told the Chronicle: "We would first like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful artists that have played our new live streaming gig format, branded First Class From Home, in support of the Railway including Chesney Hawkes and Flashfires, Emily Barker and Peter Bruntnell, Ryan O’Reilly and Josh Savage, Nick Harper and Native Harrow, Sam Brookes and Polly Paulusma and finally for this Saturday’s First Class from Home, This is The Kit and Alex Cornish.

"First Class from Home gigs run every Wednesday and Saturday at 8:30pm over on our Facebook page, they are totally free and donations are optional."

Donations to the Railway during this difficult time can be made here.

The spokesperson added: " So far we have raised £19,379 through the generosity of those wishing to save the venue and return to see live music, poetry, theatre or arts here, when we are able to re-open. It is impossible to adequately express our gratitude to those who have donated, ultimately they will be the saviours of live music in Winchester."
