Thornycroft ball at Guildhall in 1954
A programme of modern and old time dancing catered for all tastes at the second annual staff ball of John I Thornycroft and Company at Southampton Guildhall in 1954.
The 500 guests danced to the music of Bert Osborne and his orchestra while the master of ceremonies was Mr T Hopes.
