Tai Chi is a low-impact exercise form, which combines meditation, focused breathing, and physical movements to create the Tai Chi forms. Exercising the mind and body it is adaptable to fitness levels and can be particularly well suited both for older adults and those carrying an injury but who still wish to exercise.
Used historically to prepare soldiers for martial battle, 'form practice' helps to enhance balance, composure, power. Each movement helps to coordinate and condition the body and strengthen the mind. Using imagery to help you visualise movements, you will work within your own physical limitations and discover how to bring the moves together in a mindful and meaningful way. Gentle really can be as effective as a bout of more vigorous exercise!
