BUSINESS representatives met with Housing Minister Kit Malthouse MP to discuss government policy and local business issues.
Twenty-sevent businesses from all sectors – including SAAB Seaeye, Low Carbon Construction, Lucketts Travel, and others – had the opportunity to question and chat with the Housing Minister about local planning, developments and wider government policy at a quarterly meeting of the Solent Business Forum.
Local Councillors also attended, including leader of Fareham Borough Council Cllr Sean Woodward.
The minister set out the direction of government policy on housing and planning nationally, as well as touching on issues around local developments in Fareham and the south.
The event, which included lunch, took place at Lysses House Hotel in Fareham and was part of the Solent Business Forum - a group run by Suella with local businesses which meets quarterly to provide a dialogue between business, politicians, policy-makers and key stakeholders.
After the event, Fareham MP Suella Braverman said: ‘It’s a priority for me to ensure local businesses have their voices heard – so I was pleased to facilitate a good discussion with the Housing Minister Kit Malthouse.
‘Thank you to all who attended the event, and a special thanks to Tim and Annemarie Geoghegan for working with me to enable such constructive discussion for local businesses through Solent Business Forum."
