A Southampton convenience store has been chosen as the first to have a new shopping list app installed by HTEC, the EPOS, payment and loyalty solutions company.

The Londis app, powered by Ubamarket is the world’s leading end to end in-store shopping app and is now available for customers at the store on Oaktree Road in Bitterne Park.

It is the first Londis store in the UK to offer it to customers to use with HTEC’s EPOS system.

The app allows customers to complete their food shopping purchases using their own phone.

It has the ability to locate the goods on your shopping list and give you the ideal route around any Londis store to find them.

It also facilitates in-app payments which removes the need for customers to queue or unload items.

Its creation speeds up service and allows customers to pay at the checkout using a QR code.

The app provides an end-to-end solution including shopping list, product locations, loyalty, scan and go technology, product offers and in-app payment and is the only app on the market which offers this.

HTEC Managing Director Wayne Swallow said: “The Ubamarket app is perfect for people just stopping by to grab their lunch or to just make their usual shop more efficient. It also allows the store to notify the customer about particular deals currently running.”

Steve Bassett, owner of the Londis Southampton store said: “As a local convenience store we have regular customers who will be delighted with the addition of Ubamarket. It really does take the shopping experience to the next level of convenience and we’re sure digital loving customers will really go for it.”

CEO and Founder of Ubamarket Will Broome said: “Following the success of our launch with the Budgens group, I’m delighted that we are now moving across to the Londis group with our first store in partnership with the hugely innovative and widely respected Steve Bassett. This marks a significant step in our planned rollout with HTEC, a leading EPOS, payment and loyalty solutions provider.”

To celebrate the launch Londis is offering customers a free hot drink every time the app is used during October and three bottles of champagne, one each for each of the highest spenders who pay using the app during October.
