TWENTY-FIVE members of staff from Southampton-based investment business, Old Mutual Wealth cycled to Paris in memory of their colleague Simon Field, who died last year of Muscular Dystrophy.

Leaving early on Saturday, the riders covered 180 miles in three days in support of Muscular Dystrophy UK

They hope to raise £25,000 with contributions from many of firm’s 1,500 plus staff in Southampton and all donations being matched by Old Mutual Wealth’s parent company, Quilter Plc.

Simon Field worked in the Old Mutual Wealth finance team. He was also a supporter of Muscular Dystrophy UK; a charity which seeks to find a cure for the condition and aims to improve the lives of all those affected by an MD diagnosis.

Finance Director, Old Mutual Wealth, Simon Wood, said: “Following the sad passing of our dear friend and colleague, Simon, we decided to take on this fantastic challenge to try and raise money and awareness for Muscular Dystrophy, a disease that Simon sadly suffered from."

Staff at Old Mutual have also run charity dress down days, a quiz night and raffles.
