A MANAGER at Southampton-based cruise ship line has received an award for her work to help her company raise £2m for a national youth charity.

Cristina Munoz, events and community partnerships manager at Cunard, received the Outstanding Individual Award by The Prince’s Trust.

She was presented with the award at a ceremony at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London.

Following launching the partnership with the national youth charity 10 years ago, Cunard has raised £2 million raised to help The Trust reach more young people.

Cristina has played a pivotal role in reaching this figure, organising star-studded events on board Cunard’s ships in Southampton, created limited edition products and inspired and motivated young people through personal development programmes.

She said: “I have an enormous sense of pride seeing how the partnership has grown over the past 10 years. I have -- and continue to -- love every moment of the journey to reach £2 million for The Prince’s Trust.

It is always a highlight to see how inspired our guests are when they hear young people from The Trust share their stories on board. It always makes the hard work worthwhile.

“I would like to add that The Prince’s Trust does a phenomenal job helping the young people who need it most. It is also worth saying that The Trust also supports its volunteers and mentors to learn a huge amount, and benefit first-hand from seeing the impact of the work The Trust does.”

Ben Marson Director of Corporate Partnerships at The Prince’s Trust, said:

“A huge congratulations is in order for Cristina, as her passion to raise money and inspire guests, crew and colleagues across the world to support The Prince’s Trust, has shone through. Cristina has worked tirelessly since we launched our partnership 10 years ago and raised an impressive £2million. Thanks to her effort and energy we are able to give more vulnerable young people the chance they deserve.”
